For the past decade, the well known, globally influential songwriter and singer Taylor Swift has held the title for Top Artist of the Year three times, two times in a row starting in 2023. Despite her consistent strive towards popularity hovering over the music billboards, Swift has a total of 58 Grammy Award nominations. Besides the Grammys, Taylor Swift has also received 49 Billboard Music Awards, 40 American Music Awards and 30 MTV Video Music Awards. Proven by a numerous amount of statistics and data, it is obvious Swift has excelled in the music industry from the beginning of her career. Additionally, her recently released album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” broke Spotify’s record for most streamed in a day, with 300 million streams. Many may begin to wonder, with so much already accomplished for Swift, one question continues to linger within her fans. What could Taylor Swift potentially reach next?
As many fans already know, after Swift’s new deal with Universal Music Group’s Republic Records, she was granted ownership of any music she released from that date on. Swift has yet to gain ownership of her albums “Reputation” and “Debut”, as they are still under possession with Big Machine Records. Each day, the possibility of Reputation Taylors Version and Debut Taylors Version Increases, as does the excitement of Swift’s fans. Jacqueline Ciolek, current English teacher at Troy High School and forever fan of Swift’s music, shares her thoughts on Reputation Taylors Version plausible reveal, “I think she’s earned the confidence to finally release that album in the form that she wanted to. She held back. I think still, even though she was very bold in what she did say, there were some songs that she didn’t release. I think where she’s at, she’ll have the confidence to finally release it in the capacity that she wanted to.”
“There will be no further explanation. There will just be Reputation.” One of Taylor Swift’s lasting and dramatic quotes of all time, is more important now than ever. After the commonly known Instagram account Taylah’s Child, containing one’s latest news on the artist, posted on March 21st with the caption, “Taylor Swift has officially gone one hundred days without posting on Instagram, making it her longest break since 2017.” In early 2017, Swift vanished from the public eye and the media before suddenly stepping back into the spotlight, releasing “Reputation” out of nowhere. It was later disclosed in a poem Swift wrote titled, “Why She Disappeared” in the Reputation magazines. Swift wrote about her feelings during the breakdown of several relationships, friendships, hurtful accusations and drama between other musicians, such as Kanye West, Katy Perry and the Kardashian family.
Beyond the staff members at Troy High School, senior Stella Galbraith expressed how Swift’s popularity won’t increase from here on out, however the bank will. “I don’t know how much more popular she can get. You know, some people could say that she’s at Michael Jackson status. But I think if it’s possible, I think she can probably get more money.“
An endless amount of theories will continue to circle relating to any Taylor’s Version albums releasing, or even the reason for her current disappearance. Kerry Brennan, Vice Principal of Troy High School and also a Taylor Swift fan, divulges her point of view on what’s next for the celebrity, “I think she’s waiting, [release reputation taylors version] because she’s had all this success with the era’s tour, so she’s spending time with Travis, they got a puppy, they’re doing a lot of traveling and I think she’s gonna wait and then boom, Rep TV.”
Not only does Swift have luck across the board statistically, but the artist has a way of bringing her listeners together. Sophomore Lauren Giroux, describes how Taylor Swift has impacted her life, “She has so many different albums for [all the] different ways I’m feeling. For every birthday there’s a song for that age. It’s also helped bond me and my sisters because we all love her.”
Giroux also mentions her theory on Swift’s last two albums, “Everyone thinks Rep TV is next, but it’s not coming until way later. I think it’s gonna be Debut because it’s about to be twenty years since it came out. Then I think she’ll do at least one or two more albums, then Rep. TV.”
As Brennan and Giroux stated, although Swift may be winding down and stepping away from the crowds for a while, her fans will still be anxiously waiting for those last two Taylor’s Version albums.
