Joe Wood has recently stepped down from position of head wrestling coach, and Gary Harlan has taken his place. Harlan would be the third coach in three years, breaking the team out of routine and forcing them to constantly adapt.

“I generally talk to them about getting ready to wrestle as well as they can, and the winning comes with that,” Harlan said.

Harlan wants to see the team perform at the apex of the league, outperforming oppositions by 84-0. He even went so far as to say he wants to see them win every match they compete in. However, he’s also realistic in what to expect.

“Now, I’m not stupid, I’m gonna say there’s a real good chance they won’t win all their matches or meets,” Harlan said. “However, the preparation for that is everything, so I’m going to make sure they do everything they can so they’re in a position where they can win matches.”
