Taking a look into the new Disney musical “Frozen 2”
The sequel to Disney’s 2013 blockbuster, “Frozen,” not only leaves the audience with another great family movie, but another outstanding soundtrack. My personal favorites would be “Into the Unknown,” “Some Things Never Change,” and “Show Yourself.” “Frozen 2” felt like it hit the theaters way before Nov. 22 with all the plot predictions and gossip. With a second movie to continue one of Disney’s most successful films, it set the bar very high for most people’s expectations. With a 96 percent audience score, 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3/10 by IMDb, the audience seems to like the new charming musical more than the critics.
The new sequel continues the adventures of Arendelle’s Snow Queen Elsa and her little sister Anna. As they go deeper into a newly discovered forbidden forest, the musical explores sisterhood, acceptance, love and memorable songs that are sure to be the favorites of young “Frozen” fans. Actress Idina Menzel, the voice of Elsa, explained her routine before singing Elsa’s songs.
“I have to warm up for at least an hour, drink tea, and I need to get my sleep with a humidifier in my room, and that’s on top of the years of training,” Menzel said on the Late Late Night Show with James Corden.
Many people want to be amazed by the musical, hoping it’s as good, or even better than the first one.
“We think it will be better than Frozen one,” Menzel said in an interview on the Ellen DeGeneres show.
The new musical managed to ice out the competition, making over $130 million during opening weekend. Many people say “Frozen 2” could be Disney’s sixth billion-dollar film of 2019 along with “Avengers: Endgame,” “The Lion King,” “Captain Marvel,” “Aladdin” and “Toy Story 4.” The new musical has not only exceeded expectations for success, but the expectations of entertainment value as well. Overall “Frozen 2” is an amazing movie musical for anyone to watch, filled with the catchiest songs.
