Once again, March speeds past us in the blink of an eye as we approach the first day of April. Many of you may think that you have passed the age of seemingly childish April Fools’ Day pranks, but here are a couple of suggestions to bring this tradition back and feel the nostalgia of your childhood once again! These pranks range from harmless and easy to messy and infuriating. Feel free to choose the prank that best suits your interest or modify it to your liking!
- Salt and Sugar Swap: Carefully switch the contents in your salt and sugar containers to create a fun little surprise for whoever wants some salt on their eggs or sugar in their coffee. Just please remember to swap them back to their original containers after or you might prank yourself, too. I stole these ideas from the show “Friends” in the one episode where Rachel teaches Ben all these little pranks to get on Ross’ nerves. This prank seemed to be the simplest one which is why I included it.
- Minty Oreos: Take out the middle creme portion of your Oreos and replace it with a thin layer of white toothpaste. Put them back into the original package and innocently hand them to your friends and family. Some may say that these Oreos are just a little too minty for their taste, but others may enjoy the refreshing mint flavor.
- Brown-Es: Cut out some ‘E’s on a brown sheet of paper and place them into a metal tray and cover it with tinfoil. Tell your friends that you baked some brownies and unfold the tinfoil to reveal your homemade brownies. This will surely make them love you!
- The Apple of my Eye: Stick two googly eyes on any or all fruit or food product in your refrigerator that you would like. Next time someone opens the fridge, they’ll receive a cute little surprise and see a bunch of eyes staring back at them. This prank is cheap and will make for a cute addition in your fridge.
- Sparkly Surprise: If you don’t want to ever talk to someone again, take an envelope and fill it with a bunch of glitter of your choice. Shake it up and ask someone to open it for you. The glitter will get everywhere and the person will no longer speak to you! Yay!
These were just a few of my favorite pranks for this upcoming April Fools’ Day. Always remember that pranks are meant to be harmless and funny. Keep this in mind if you ever find yourself contemplating whether or not to give an envelope full of glitter to your mother. Have a great April Fools’ Day!
