Trump Trumps Wall Prototypes

President Donald Trump’s plans to start construction of the US-Mexico border wall in June 2018 at the San Diego border have been finalized. Prototypes from four different construction companies have been completed after months of delay. Deputy Customs and Border Commissioner Ronald Vitiello says the designs have the wall reaching a minimum height of 30 feet high.

“The process to evaluate the prototypes will roughly take 3 months,” Vitiello said.

Troy High Social Studies and English teacher Jacqueline Ciolek says she thinks building a wall goes against what America stands for.

“I think a wall symbolically is not necessary, but I do understand the thought process behind strengthening our borders,” Ciolek said.

The four companies selected to design prototypes were Caddell Construction Co. of Montgomery, Alabama, Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. of Tempe, Arizona, Texas Sterling Construction Co. of Houston, Texas and Yates and Sons Construction Co. of Philadelphia, Mississippi.
