Cell Phone Stalker

New information shows how much our phones are actually tracking us.

The New York Times recently came out with new information showing specifically how many of the apps on a cell-phone can track you and how detailed the data is. It was reported that the majority of apps don’t disclose that they are tracking their users, except for a mention in the terms and agreements many people opt out of. Computer science teacher Joseph Moceri believes people that have nothing to hide should not be subject to this kind of nefarious activity.

“I think it’s unethical, because I mean, nobody, nobody reads those letters,” Moceri said.”So they know that and they’re putting it in there and then they’re taking your information and they’re passing it on to all these third parties that I really don’t want having all my information.”

That being said, there is a way to turn off these tracking features, on phone settings.
However, many people remain unaware of the fact that they are being tracked and the precedent it could potentially set when it comes to privacy in our country.
